"Simply divine....a haven for mind, body & soul." J.K. 2017

Built in the early 19th century by a local fisher family, Tern Cottage was originally a basic thatched dwelling with just two downstairs rooms, a loft for storage and a fish-drying shed and smoke house attached.
Lovingly renovated in 2015 by owner Felicity (who lives in The Studio next door) Tern is a now a very special holiday cottage, perfect as a couple's hideaway, a writer's retreat or a wildlife enthusiast's haven. Elegantly decorated with top quality furnishings, original artwork and fresh flowers this is a holiday cottage with a difference!
All enquiries and bookings are managed by Felicity's daughter
Katherine who lives locally.

THE COTTAGE...

KITCHEN - Very well equipped little kitchen. Belfast sink, 'fridge, counter-top mini oven with two hobs, kettle and toaster. There is also a washing machine and tumble dryer. SHOWER ROOM - Luxury power shower with constant hot water. UPSTAIRS - Two inter-connecting rooms under the eaves. The first room is open to the stairs and leads through to the main bedroom. IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE:
- There is no television at Tern Cottage but there is a radio and unlimited super fast WiFi .
- Mobile phone reception is somewhat patchy in the village but it can often be accessed upstairs in the cottage and outside.
- The traditional nature of the cottage means the headroom upstairs is limited and both beds are under low eaves.
- In case of potential allergies: we use down feather bedding and soft furnishings.
- The cottage is not suitable for babies or children under the age of 5 years.
- We're sorry but the cottage is not accessible for wheelchair users or guests with limited mobility.
- The holiday accommodation at Tern is a self-contained part of the owner's home.
